I was very pleased with the gun, but the original finish (blue gloss) left something to be desired. Every smudge and mark was glaring an otherwise fine firearm. After I got it back from Ford's, though, I had a tough care-free finish that was more attractive than I could have hoped for. Everybody who saw it commented on its looks, and the value of the firearm (now used) increased to above what I paid for it new. I would not hesitate to go to Ford's again.

Dear Fords;
I am writing to let you know how pleased I am with the service you provided. The finish on the pistol I sent you, an HK P7, was in fairly rough shape and had a hideous struck through BMI marking on the slide. You milled the receiver, re-engraved, and hard chromed it and now it looks like new. I also want to thank you for taking care of the little problem we had after the initial refinish. The slide had been mistakenly engraved with "M8" on the side and when I brought this mistake to your attention (after trying to "live with it" for about three months) you jumped through hoops to make it right, even paying shipping. You re-milled the slide, re-engraved, and then re-hard chromed it and the slide could not look any better. And there is no indication that the "M8" or the struck through "BMI" was ever there.
Most any refinisher can hard chrome a slide, the real test of a company's mettle is in Customer Service when problems arise. In my opinion the CS department along with the quality of your work FORD's gets top marks. Thank you so much for the quality of your work and your attention to customer satisfaction.
Sincerely,

I've used Ford's services many times and every time my firearms come back with a beautiful and flawless finish. They're work is truly wonderful and always exceedes my expectations and they're some of the kindest people you'll ever know.

I received my HK M8 in NEW condition (except for the "notorious" Mill Mark). I sent it down to Ford's Guns for Mill Mark Removal, restoration of original markings and HARD CHROME. I highly recommend Horace Booth for this type work!! This is my "carry" gun, now.

We use Ford's Custom Gun Refinishing exclusively for all of our customer's guns with the exception of Black-T. Ford's exceeds our expectations every time no matter if it is Master blue, matte blue, hard chrome or some of their more exotic finishes. The prep work and attention to detail is second to none. They are true craftsman in their trade and have proven that to us time and again with each gun we send to them. They are extremely friendly, professional and will talk to you until all your questions are answered and special instructions are fully understood. When they work on your gun it is like it is the only gun they have, a true amount of professionalism that is a rare find in today's world. If they can't do it then no one can do it.

I sent my CZ52 which is over fifty years old with no finish and received it back better than I had expected with a perfect two-tone matte black chrome and satin nickel finish. As usual I received it with refinished magazines that look great with the gun.

Dear Ford's:
I recently picked up a blued worn S&W revolver that had been refinished by and amateur. The S&W trademark was buffed almost clean from the side plate along with the roll mark. I called and asked if it would be possible to change the finish to bright nickel as I had been looking for one in this finish for years and could not locate it. You assured me that it would look like original and that was and understatement as it look's better than other factory S&W revolver's in Nickel that I own. I had heard that you did each piece as it was your own. I received the revolver back and was in awe at the amount of detail and care that was shown in the quality of work. I have suggested your service to plenty and will continue to endorse your unmatched quality and service. Thank's for a revolver I could have never expected and now can be proud of.
Best regards.

To Whom It May Concern,
I searched the internet far and wide for someone to refinish my firearms that I prayed I could trust.....I found Ford's Custom Gun Refinishing in Inverness Florida which is a family business run by Horace and his wife Larna.
Now let me tell you straight up front....if you want a gun finished ASAP.....then go somewhere else....this shop really takes their time with each and every gun as if they all belong to Horace personally.
His and her attention to detail is above and beyond the call of duty. Craftsmanship is totally awesome. I had my Desert Eagle chrome plated with the trigger, hammer, safety bar and bolt jeweled and oh my God was it beautiful.
I was so impressed that I gave them my M1 Garand and had it nickel plated also.....the pictures I swear do not do justice.....they are beautiful.
My hat's off to Horace and Larna owners of Ford's Custom Gun Refinishing and look forward to more of my guns being done by them as soon as I can.
Thank you Horace and Larna.
Sincerely,

Hands down the best Colt and High Standard restorers in the buisness. It will scare you because they are so casual about it. The "turnbull" quality without the hype, or wait.

My 1954 S&W 38/44 Heavy Duty was refinished by Ford's in their 'Master Blue' polish. I highly recommend the gunsmithing and finish work at Fords! The gun's a real dazzler!

I am Pleased to announce that Ford's Refinishing has once again out done themselves on yet another impeccable finish. I had this Vintage K-22 revolver that was originally Blued finish. It had a Blued cylinder that did not match the rest of the gun in color and was a deep plum as seen on many older S&W revolver's. I called and asked Larna if they could re-blue the cylinder by itself to match the rest of the revolver. She said they could but Larna knew I was a Nickel finish lover and asked if I would rather have the gun refinished in a Bright Nickel finish? I though about it a moment while we were on the phone and felt since one did not see many Nickel finished K-22's, and that I had so many positive remark's on the superior job they did on my other K-22 that was refinished in High Polished Nickel, that this finish would be an excellent way to go. I received the revolver yesterday and all I can say is UNBELIEVABLE. This is yet by far the best finish I have in my growing collection and my hat is off again to Horace and Larna for being the best refinishing shop on "Earth". I strongly suggest them to anyone desiring to have their guns refinished. I also know of no other refinishers that give a full one year warranty with all their work and that alone is a true statement of faith for there fine quality and deserving long hard work in gaining this reputation to be the very best at what they do.
A Very Happy customer,

Thanks for the great job!

Another fantastic nickel job by Fords!

I had Mr. Booth refinish my 1965 Colt Python, it was Colt's "Royal blue" with slight wear from over the years. So I wanted somthing that was a durable finish that can withstand Florida's climate, I chose the hard chrome polished finish. When the pistol was finished I was floored at the craftmanship, not a flaw anywhere. Mr. Booth and his wife are up-front people with a very good work ethic, their staff as well. About the finish about one year later as many rounds through it it is still flawless (that hard chrome holds) because of the outstanding quality of work Ford's does. Five stars.
Thank you,

I'm no good at writing, but you guys deserve any accolades out there. Hands down the best Colt and High Standard restorers in the business. It will scare you because they are so casual about it. The quality without the hype, or wait.

I had an alloy grip frame that I wanted finished in bright nickel. Every other refinishing shop I contacted said it couldn't be done. Ford's did it, it's beautiful and it still looks new three years later.

I had a model 27 with a cylinder pitted badly. I decided to roll the dice and send off just the cylinder for refinishing. I asked Larna to get it as close as possible to the original high polished bluing that S&W used back in the mid 1970's. Well here is the revolver back together and it is another flawless job done by Ford's in Florida. Simply the Best on the Planet Earth.

Just received a part that Fords did for me as a warranty item. The service and quality is beyond excellent, and I am still in awe of their professional standards!
Thanks, Larna, Horace and staff.

I Picked up this 1948 Smith & Wesson K-22 a while back. I decided to make a Gun Forum Project out of it after I called Larna and asked if they would do one of their Master bluing job's on it. I have used Ford's in the past, so knew their quality was the very best compared to other refinisher's work I have seen in the past. The example I sent them was rough to say the least. I shared with Larna I would be using this revolver a lot and many people would be looking at their work closely when it was finished and in turn I suspect many will want their prized revolvers refinished by Ford's when they see the striking flawless example they turned out for me. The main reason I wanted Ford's to do this refinish is that S&W did not offer this level of finish on revolver's from the early post war period, and I wanted a custom high level finish to compliment the fine fit and overall eye appeal these post war revolvers had. It is rare in today's carefree throw away attitude world, that anyone takes the time staking pain to turn out quality like this and this finish is truly the deepest black high polished finish I have ever seen on any handgun. I have a friend who has an older Colt Python back when Colt was applying top notch bluing to their products and he agreed that this finish produced by Ford's even exceeds his prized Python. Rest assured if you send your firearms to Ford's Refinishing with the family owned team of Larna, Horace and Travis working together on your weapon, you will get back a quality no one can match.

The Ford's organization represent craftsmanship and professionalism of a caliber that most people in the United States cannot find and think exists here no longer. I am immensely appreciative of the work performed and the courtesy and patience of the staff.

When I found this Colt it was in bad shape. Originally a series 70 combat commander with a nickel finish, it looked ready for the spare parts bin. Mechanically it was sound, even tight. Normally I wouldn't refinish an old Colt, but this one needed cosmetic help bad so I gave it a second chance and sent it to Ford's. Good ideas are rare for me, but when I have one, it's a doozy. Sending it to Ford's was one of my rare good ones. After a few weeks, the commander was complete and returned to me. WOW!! I couldn't believe it was the same pistol. The finish was incredible. Thanks Ford's. You are true craftsmen.

I purchased this revolver to be a daily carry piece. I knew buying it, that I wanted Ford's to do a refinish on it. I spoke with Larna in great length what would be my best daily carry finish option to keep the finish looking great she suggested going with the High Polish Chrome finish. The gun I sent them was full of pit's and was in very rough condition. They took this revolver way beyond my expectations and now I have a daily carry weapon to be proud of. They even re-cut the miniature factory logo for me on this one, and did a fabulous job on it. Ford's have done the impossible again and I will continue to endorse their fine high quality work to anyone needing a gun refinished. You would have to be crazy to send it to anyone else.

Here is the Smith & Wesson hand ejector, 38 Special, built between 1905-1906. It was originally all nickel. It was in rough shape, and I'm so very pleased it came out great! I've always wanted a "Pinto" finish revolver, and I figured this was the perfect project. Bright nickel, master blue, and case hardened hammer & trigger. Thank you very much!

I am beyond impressed with your work, it has surpassed all of my expectations. I am definitely glad that I chose to wait the time that you take to do the work instead of going with a company that simply promises a quick turnaround.
Thanks again,

I just wanted to send you my sincere thanks for the fabulous job; refinishing the slide on my Glock 23CC. Glock should have done this from the start to their line of pistols. You all provide a wonderful and fabulous finish. I look forward to sending you a few more to accomplish for me.
